Anzac Commemoration – Year Three Excursion Resources

The Year Three Anzac Commemoration Education program is an exciting day out at the Mudgeeraba Light HorseMuseum.  It covers a ranges of pre and post excursion resources, as well as the activity sheets for the visit.  The excursion is planned to align with Australian History Curriculum requirements.

The Excursion is a day of adventure and new experiences for the students, and includes a combination of different activities, including:

  • Searching out symbols of the Anzacs
  • Anzac Commemoration of Heroes – men, women, indigenous, locals, pioneers
  • Group training sessions for students on:
    • How to raise the flag
    • WWI Weapons handling
    • How to care for a War Horse
  • Live horseback tent-pegging demonstration
  • Live flag raising ceremony  – with firing party – very Loud!
